Faith is the trust in God and in His promises as made through Christ and the Scriptures by which humans are justified or saved. Our faith is the victory that enables us to overcome the world’s temptation. Everything that the Lord does for us is accessed through faith. When the world tears upon us with false impression, especially with the exterior beauty, the misapprehension of richness and pleasure, we have to overcome those things by putting our faith in God and read the Scripture.
In times of trouble, we should have a humble attitude in front of God. Remember that a trial doesn’t make us humble; our attitude toward them does. If we choose not to be humble and giving up, it will draw us away from God. Sometimes "the Lord seeth fit to chasten his people; yea he trieth their patience and their faith" (Mosiah 23:21.) At times we may feel that our trials would be easier or our temptations would be less if the Lord would bless us with heavenly miracles or signs and wonders.
The more you know about faith and how it works, the better it will work for you. If all you knew was that you have the same faith Jesus has, then that would remove hopelessness and motivate you. The Lord has given us everything we need, including all the faith we need. We just need to acknowledge what we have and begin to learn the laws that govern the operation of God's faith.
